Man, that sucks.
I guess this is just a "wrong place at the wrong time" kind of situation.
I had a weird accident once, I was going home in a cab (taxi) and weather was rainy, the driver took a curve on the road too fast, and we started to spin, the car hit the concrete barrier twice, changing the spin direction at every hit, nothing really bad happened, we just got a little sacred, and both car bumpers got destroyed, luckily it was late at night and there was almost no traffic.

Woah, that sounds a lot scarier than my situation. I was in the house when my car got hit. We came outside because my friend's sister saw the accident happen and she let us know. I guess the only alarming thing for me was trying to make sense of the situation when I first saw it. XD

Oh gosh, I'm just glad you got out okay, and the truck driver was okay too.
Just three Sundays ago I was a hair's breadth away from being involved in a nasty accident; I was riding my bike to Mass and I went through the green light; a car and a motorbike ran the red light. If I had moved any further.......

Thanks for your concern! I wasn't actually in the car at the time of the accident; I was in the house. Still, it was pretty spooky how the pole landed on my car, of all places.
I would be terrified of biking around in the city. I was just reading an article the other day about all of the fatal bike accidents that have plagued Boston the last few years... Some motorists just have an extreme lack of regard for other people who share the road. :'(
