It's very cool and funky, but mellow at the same time. You have a lot of cool instruments in there, though, although sometimes I think the rapid changes in instrumentation can be a bit jarring. Also, sometimes the syncopations are a little too busy imo. It seems very experimental, and the transition at 1:40 didn't really work for me. The climactic/apprehensive atmosphere there seemed contradictory to the chill groove surrounding it. It's a strange mix of relaxing and energetic, which I suppose is what makes it so experimental, but overall I'm really impressed with you ability to harmonize. It wasn't the most coherent piece, but it was definitely entertaining. It's official, Possibly. You earned yourself a follower! ;D It's hard to become one of my favorite users; it truly is. I'm picky! XD Keep up the great work! I'm excited to see what else you'll produce in the near future! ^^

I love the use of those frantic synths in combination with that "rolling" synth that comes in at :17. It's almost like you're combining "Substructure" or "Inside the Machine" with "Snowfall in an Empty Land," which is a very good thing indeed. However, I'm going to have to dock you some points for being a little repetitive in the beginning, although I really liked the ominous breaks at around 1:05. The climax into 1:37 was good, and I know this is DnB, but I thought the drums were almost too loud! You know I love it when you get glitchy, though. You were approaching the line of overdoing it, though, but I think the melody at 2:09 saved you! ;) I really liked the guitar, although I agree the recording quality could've been better. I love the combination of ominous and almost adventurous moods you have going on here, though. The ending was interesting. It almost seems like it's going to loop, but it doesn't. You troll you! ;D Nice work as always, Johnfn! Your songs represent about 5 of the top 10 weirdest songs on my iPod (and that's a good thing)! :D

YES the way that I innovate is that I combine the old styles that I've done. Or something like that. Actually there is a good deal of new stuff in this song too, but it might not be obvious.

> being a little repetitive in the beginning

I guess so but I really wanted to build an atmosphere. It's like you take some time to look around and take in the surroundings before you go on the trip. As it were. :)

> overdoing glitchiness

You and I both know this is clearly IMPOSSIBLE. =D

> drums too loud

Actually yeah definitely at the beginning they are. I think this was because I was using the later, denser part of the song as a reference point for drum mixing... lesson learned!

> ending

Haha I actually tried to write a normal ending this time. Go figure that it still trolls people.

Only 5? I haven't been trying hard enough ;.;

To be honest, when I first listened to this song I didn't like it so much. It sounded very distorted and angry, a style of music I wasn't really accustomed to. I felt bad because I know you were excited about this piece a lot. Over the past few months, though, I've really expanded my musical tastes, and now I can tell you that this is FREAKING AWESOME!!! :D I love all the instruments, especially the crashes, and the climax into 1:38 is absolutely incredible. Unlike some of your tracks, the length doesn't bother me so much, as it makes this piece truly epic. I think it does a great job of highlighting that classic DM-style synth (i.e., 3:18), and the structure really takes the listener on a very vivid musical journey. I really liked the sense of constant direction this one had in that sense, especially at spots like around :40 - 1:00 and 4:40 - 5:00, for example. It's constantly changing, yet feels so coherent. The mix is clearly very full, but considering just how much content you have packed in there, you did a nice job there too. Amazing work! :D I apologize again for not reviewing this earlier. Keep up the great work, Matt, and hope you get out of that writer's block soon / good luck with your speech! ;D

I never replied to this. I'm going to now. Hi :D

I'm glad you like it now, man! But to be honest, now me and Ionic Force don't like it so much XD.

There are so many things that could be improved, like the damn mix for example. And my 3 trance drops that sound exactly the same with the bad mix. But we use this as a springboard. Double-Edge, the track we most recently released with the start of our Equilibria project, is musically brilliant, but the mix is still lacking and could to with a polish (but I know why it was bad now that I can actually run the project on my laptop again!). This remix we're working on, the Acid 9000 one, is probably going to be the best works of both of us, until Ionic Force finishes his track Infinite Realms, and we're really pushing hard to finish it as soon as possible in between school and him working.

I really am glad you like it though, as I said. I may not like the song anymore, but with the inspiration I get from this track for my future ones and these positive reviews, I shall never forget it.

Thank you. <3

I love the melodies and instruments. The snare that comes in at :13 is really quirky and cool, too. It's very smooth-flowing and catchy. I thought you overused the crashes a bit after around 30 seconds in, though. Otherwise, it's very melodic, cute, and funky! I love it! ;D

MidnightSugar responds:

I know, I have a habit of overusing crashes, I just get these urges to put them in. Thanks a lot
for the positive review!

Woah. I love the instruments, especially the quirky percussion and effects. It has an excellent mood - the perfect combination of ominous and relaxed. It gets a little repetitive by the end, but also is harmonically well-varied. The only really repetitive part is the guitar-sounding instrument. I think this would make a really good loop, but I think it would be even better if you expanded upon it as it is. Please finish this! It has a ton of potential. Amazing work! ;D Keep at it, Antiskill (what an ironic name!). ^^

YakovlevArt responds:

I get what you mean. It's a sounds that I personally love hearing and is very soothing and a classic Asian sound.
Glad you dig it though.

I like the emotion and chord progression a lot. I don't know if there was too much reverb or what, but it sounded a little too full/muddy throughout. It's hard to tell when one note ends and the next one begins. The composition, however, is good. I like the instruments and mood. It could use some structural variations, though, and I think it needed more of a conclusive ending, or at least a loop. Overall, though, nice work, LSD! ;D See you around...

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

"I like the emotion and chord progression a lot"

=> Yeah, I think those are the only strong parts of this song :D

"I don't know if there was too much reverb or what, but it sounded a little too full/muddy throughout"

=> No, it's probably not the reverb :p This is a quite old song, and I'm pretty sure it's so muddy because of the fact that so many instruments are playing on top of eachother. They're also playing very different things, which just makes this a total mess :)

" I like the instruments and mood. It could use some structural variations, though, and I think it needed more of a conclusive ending..."

=> I agree with everything :D

"...or at least a loop."

=> Actually, I'm pretty sure this shouldn't loop, since it has kind of a climax, so you would only listen to it like 2 times before wanting to move on XD

"Overall, though, nice work, LSD! ;D See you around..."

=> Thanks for leaving a review, TheDoor6, and I'll see ya 'round too ;)

I loved the melody, although the instrument at :16 was a bit jarring and harsh at times. It's climactic and very catchy, though. I also thought the instrument at :45 was similarly penetrating and loud. The drop was cool, though. It's really funky, yet ominous in a way. It progressed a little slowly at the beginning, but once it gets going it's a really fun and cool piece, man! The structure and transitions were solid. It gets a little repetitive again by the end, but that's okay. It loops well, which can only be a good thing. Overall, nice work! Keep it up, Warriorsmith! ;D

DragoonZwei responds:

Thanks! I always end up uploading my track in a "beta" stage and immediately regret it so A final might be coming up soon and I really do appreciate the input. It helps me pick at the things I need to fix up :)

I like the ominous mood and effects. You have a good sense of rhythm and all. However, I think it progressed very slowly and needed something more melodic to tie it together a bit. You have to have some notes in there, man; it can't just all be effects. Also, the glitchy effect at the end seemed a bit irrelevant. I think you should have looped it. Overall, though, I liked it. It'd be good for a creepy drama/suspense movie or something. ;)

Corode responds:

Well, like Grinder said, it wasn't designed to be melodic. It was designed to sound like how I felt at the time.

But thank you for the review, it means alot :)
