Love the gritty bass and quirky lead. Sounds very retro indeed. The ghostly melodies and rich harmonies really hit the spot - has a really triumphant feel to it overall. I'd love to see a full version of this sometime. Cheers! ^_^

The ominous wave-like synth at the beginning is pretty cool. I love the atmosphere, although the harmonies are a bit dissonant at times, especially towards the beginning. The beat at :38 is really nice, and the synth lead is cool too, although it cuts out a little suddenly at :52. I like the gritty bass at 1:17 and the frantic synth pattern at 1:37 and other places. The piece still sounds a bit minimal, and could use some stronger melodic content at times, but it's much better than you think it is with your "predicted score" of 2.5 stars. :) Keep at it, CF24!
I guess it was because this is my first time trying to do such a genre as this, plus I have a feeling your a bit strict with your reviews (which is good) so I just made a prediction of that lol, but I’m glad to see I did better! Thanks for the critique.
YES. I love eerie soundtrack-type music, and you nailed this. The low-pitched, almost meditative drone, the echo-y vocals, and the ambient crickets/nature sound effects all contribute to some fantastic sound design, and the pacing of the piece is really nice too. Just when I think the piece is petering out a bit, the piano riff at 2:15 takes it in a new, suspenseful direction. Love the variety and sense of narrative direction here. If I had to complain about one thing, it might be that the way the crickets duck under the mix when the vocals/bass come in sounds a bit unnatural. Regardless, this is a thoroughly enjoyable track, SFW! Keep it up. ^_^
I really need to catch up with your more recent stuff. Love the cutesy instrumentals and seemingly Latin-inspired beat. At first, the vocals sounded a little uninspired, like you weren't quite hitting max energy, but the layering at :45 is really nice, and I also like the lyrics a lot. Love the guitar solos during the post-chorus sections too. There are a lot of distinctive harmonic parts during the final section that help the piece come together nicely. Strong work, SFW! ^_^
Wow, this sets the scene nicely. Love how each chord takes its time to develop - every note has a shape here. Just really beautiful, organic-sounding, refreshing music. If I ever take a vacation in Oklahoma or something, this will be my soundtrack. ^_^
Hey man! Sorry for the slow response. Busy week for me.
I like the synth riff at the beginning. The vocal sample at :30 sounds a tad out-of-place, but by :46 the drums are really catchy and keep up the energy level nicely. Some of the instruments sound pretty inauthentic, especially the brass at 1:01. Usually it's better to choose instruments that are meant to sound electronic rather than super fake ones that are meant to sound orchestral. But I like the harmonies here - they're much less dissonant than in Sunset Dreams. The transitions could be a bit more gradual at times, but the crashes definitely help make them sound smoother. Overall solid track, dude. Keep it up! ^_^
Thanks so much! Also, nothing in this song except the shakers at the drops are samples. And sorry for responding late. 😅
Instruments are... A little troublesome every now and then.
The crashes used to be less impactive... yea thats really all i have to say. Thanks again!
Wait, one more thing. Sunset dreams was my fifteenth song, and this is my 34th song. I guess that can be a useful piece of info XD
I like the furtive tone at the beginning and the cutesy synth plucks. The drums at :28 sound nice and crisp in the mix and help keep the energy level up. The texture sounds a bit thin at times - lot of instruments with little to no reverb or other mixing effects to make it sound richer, although maybe that's not an option in FL Studio Mobile, idk. I like the progression with the strings into 2:17 - that was a good climactic moment. The more energetic beat starting at 2:45 is a nice touch, but the harmonies there are a little dissonant between the pads and the cutesy lead synth. I like the outro with the strings and airy synth at 3:30, too. Solid work overall, CF24! Somehow I'm sure Waterflame heard it and liked it a lot. :)
What do you know, I guessed exactly the correct score you would give me…
But you wanna know something, I have been obsessed with waterflame for over half my life, he’s lead me to a world that I never knew, I’m infinitely in debt to him. I get all giddy and excited just from a simple favorite from him on YouTube for lords sake. But that doesn’t matter, Waterflame has been my mentor and muse for so long, I have many dreams I want to come true, and I’m working towards them, but beyond every dream I could have, the biggest one is to just make waterflame proud. Sure, a collab would be amazing as fuck, just as well as meeting him to. But both of those can never compare to making waterflame simply proud of me…
And I’m just gonna let you know…
You will be the first to know when that happens, your a part of my journey, and maybe Im a part of yours as well.
Love the quirky, otherworldly radio effects at the beginning and the tranquil strumming pattern that follows. The lyrics are really evocative, and I love how the structures of the verses (even down to the thought process expressed in the lyrics) mimic each other. The only thing that would make this piece better in my mind is a killer solo after the second refrain ends at 2:50. Strong work again, Bryce! ^_^
I love the raw, direct flavor of this one. Really relatable lyrics, soulful guitar solos, and a strong narrative progression too. The mix is clean overall, but the drums get a little buried beneath the guitars and vocals. Otherwise, you absolutely knocked this out of the park, Bryce. Keep up the good work! ^_^
Wow! Love to see collabs between giants like this. I like the dramatic hit at the very beginning and the dreamy atmosphere that characterizes the rest of the intro. There's a nice and gradual crescendo into :28, and the melody there sounds really triumphant and full. The bass-y bridge at :44 was a little unexpected, and by 1:25 the texture is rich and energetic. Love the powerful drums and blissful piano melodies here too. You interweave the synth melody from the intro nicely too, and F-777's style definitely comes through with the bass-heavy breaks at 2:22. The re-intro at 3:04 definitely gets the job done in terms of providing some structural contrast and selling the narrative aspect of the piece. I love how quickly you return to the frantic, energetic refrain by 3:46, and the layering of the synth on top of the piano melodies at 4:15 was a nice touch. Overall, this is a well-structured and well-produced track, with a nice balance of melodic and rhythmic elements. Top-notch work, fellas! ^_^
