[Tricolore]

I liked the intro, but I thought you overused the crash throughout the piece. You had a nice beat going in the beginning, but the instrument you used at :31 was a little...queer, to be honest. The rhythm at :53 was a little weird, too. I liked it when you brought the cute little videogame-like melody back at 2:23, but the ending honestly could've been more original. As for the positive, liked the beat/melody at 1:23, and again at 1:39- they were funky and creative. In general, it was pretty unique, except for maybe the bassline, which I felt like I heard in a lot of techno songs before. Still, I think it has potential. Hope this was helpful, and I'd love to hear a revised version of this song incorporating some of my advice. Happy holidays! :)

[Rainwave - Star Burst]

Like the instruments and dreamy feeling. It was really climactic, which is good. It was a little repetitive around 1:30-2:30, but the transition at 2:32 and then the part after that was absolutely gripping. It caught me off guard, but in a good way. The synth at 3:28 sounded a little out-of-place for me, but you transitioned nicely into the part at 4:23. Liked the funky melody after that as well. I found another good transition around 5:40, and I liked the way you ended the piece with those warm strings. Overall, a pretty unique and interesting piece, and I love the emotion. Songs like this make trance what it is- the strong beat and catchy, dreamy melody...I love it! :D

Hmm, yeah, I get the repetitive part, I was afraid of that when creating it, but there wasn't a good solution for it, so I left it like it is now.
I don't really know how that would sound out-of-place to you at the breakdown at 3:28 though. Still, I respect all the criticism I get :D

[Sky on Fire-QUADX]

Liked the instrument you used for the chords in the beginning, but I think they would've sounded better if you connected them more. The distorted vocals were really interesting and futuristic. It even feels dreamy at times, whereas it's also pretty energetic at others- I like the emotional contrast there. I don't really understand the ending- it seemed to me like it started to fade out, then you came in with the vocals again. Still, love your style and the originality I see here. Have a nice holiday, and keep up the good work.

I like the ominous intro, and your transitions in the beginning were smooth. Like the instrument you used for the melody that comes in at :56 and I liked the bass and beat, too. However, some of your later transitions were a little rough and/or unoriginal, like :54 and 2:23. This piece has a smooth-sounding melody, so I think it deserves some smooth transitions. Also, I think you could've come up with a much better ending than a fade-out one. Other than that, great job. It's upbeat and fun and creative. Have a nice holiday, and keep up the good work.

[Industrial Toy Box]

It starts off a little slow...but it's also pretty climactic so I'll let it slide. ;) It's very distorted and creepy, which is a good thing! When that riff came in at :33 I thought it was just kind of wierd, but the "melody" at 1:36 really added a lot to the piece. It got a little repetitive, though. I think you should bring out that back-up melody that starts at about 2:25 more. Sorry to say this, but the ending is weak. It's like the beginning- slow and quite a bit boring, to be honest. Sorry. That bass at 3:53 threw me off a bit- I thought you were going to do something more with the piece, but you didn't. It's still a good quality piece with a lot of potential, but it needs to be more engaging and less repetitive. Hope this helped and keep up the good work! :)

[Forgetting Who You Are]

I love your style, Synthapse. The catchy and energetic bass strangely compliments the slow, mellow melody very well! It's dreamy and thought-provoking. However, I don't think the melody quite worked with the "back-up melody" at around 1:42-2:15. I also have to say: I'm not a fan of the fade-out endings. They just seem lazy and anticlimactic to me. Still, like I said, love your style and hope this review helped you! Keep up the good work! :)

[Mace Spountain (Dubstep)]

Love the melody and strong beat. You play with the dynamics a lot too, which is good. I'm not a huge fan of dubstep, but the transition between it and the melody was good and it fit with the melody better than some other tracks I've heard. The vocals are also an interesting transition between the melody and dubstep. As for the actual dubstep itself, there were a lot of muddy sounds in there that I didn't really like, and sometimes the rhythm didn't really work for me...it seemed like the bass didn't correspond to the beat. Other than that, love the transitions, melody, and dynamics, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of other people who like this style better than me. ;)

[Bass N stuff]

:D Yeah! Love the cute, funky melody and the beat that comes in at :46 with the cool effects. It's a really "flashy" but also feel-good song. I like the chill mid-section too, and how you lead in to the end of the song is really smooth and cool. Awesome form and style. I don't usually give 10s easily, but this is really catchy and unique. Also like the ending- it really fits the style of the song. Excellent choice of instruments, btw. You have bass, you have rhythm, you have it all! If people haven't heard of you yet they're going to soon. This is amazing! :D

[GSC Rocket Battle (16 bit]

Engaging and bouncy. I like it. The instruments are interesting, and the form is well done. There are so many remixes on Newgrounds, though. I'd love to hear an original from you. Btw, the drums could've been stronger/ more engaging, even if the focus is on the melody. Loops well, but at the same time a little repetitive. Despite my criticism, nice job overall, and hope I'll hear from you soon. :)

I'm sorry dear. My passion has never been composition. Ever since I started making music it was out of a love of classic video game tunes and a desire to create my own twists to them. That being said, you probably won't see anything truly original from me unless it's a collaboration. It just wouldn't be as fun or interesting for me--I need to be able to feel passionate about what I do, or I won't be able to keep doing it.

The drums tend to be a little lackluster, so I struggle with finding a balance between making sure they don't ever draw the focus and making sure you can still tell they're there.

[Bound By Fate [Preview]]

There's a lot of emotion in this piece. I like that. I feel it needs a full version to fully display its emotional potential, however. It's upbeat and dreamy, and I love the piano solo and how it almost sneaks into the song! Not a fan of the fade-out ending, though, but hopefully you have a more exiting ending in the full track. Good job. I'm waiting for the full version. ;)
