I like the percussion and effects at the beginning. It's catchy and unique. Those synths were really cool, and the mood was excellent! Cute and creepy all at once! ;D I wish it progressed a little faster at times, and that synth on the off-beats got a little distracting, but still a really cool, unique, well-structured piece. Keep it up, Khrossfire! ;)

Lockyn responds:

Thank you! I definitely agree with the off-beat synth thing, it started to annoy me too xD It was this tempo because my friend requested it to be around this tempo for his film. I do agree it would be a bit more fitting at a faster tempo! Thanks again, and I really need to check out your new stuff ;3

I love the percussion and instruments, as well as the mood. It's climactic and catchy and just engrossing! Amazing! :D Well-structured, bass-y, and even pretty well-varied for a progressive track. I liked how you started taking it in a different direction around 1:30. It felt very club-ish towards the end, and the percussion was a highlight throughout. I loved how you brought back elements of the first half of the song towards the end, and a new energy was born! The very ending, however, seemed a bit lazy to me, but other than that, I have no complaints. Great job! :D

ClotSliver responds:

I love long reviews! Thanks for the feedback glad you enjoyed it :D More to come soon(ish), also yeah I simply got tired of working on it, hence the ending lol

I love the mood at the beginning, as well as the instruments and dreamy vibe. It fits your image of space explorers perfectly! :D I wish there was more substance at times, but still very catchy and nice job varying it. It's energetic and techno-y, yet also strangely atmospheric and harmonizing at times. I loved how you ended it with a creepy mood, but I personally didn't think you needed the rift at 4:43. Anyway, it's an overall excellent piece! Keep it up! ;D

Good instruments and mood. The melody is really beautiful, and the dreamy vibe of it was just engrossing. The transition at 3:31 was a little abrupt, but I suppose I have to see "Alfred's Big Surprise" to understand the context of it. Is "Alfred's Big Surprise" a movie or musical? Anyway, excellent job. Keep at it, man. ;)

I like the melody and instruments. It's really upbeat and uplifting. :) You did vary the melody a little, but I still wish it led more of somewhere. Still, a sweet and inspiring song. I'd love to hear one of your tracks with a little more substance. ;)

TheChiga responds:

Hey! Haven't been on the NG website in a while! Thanks TheDoor6. Very glad you liked it! :D
Promise my next track will have more substance! Cheers! :D

I like the mood at the beginning, and the instruments were really high-quality. The emotion was good throughout, but I thought that the transition at 1:36 was a little rough, even with the build. How you incorporated the percussion in with the piano and other instruments was really interesting and unique. I like the variation in that regard. I like how you then transitioned from the energetic percussion and piano back into the somber feeling of the beginning. Good structure and dynamic contrast, too. I like this a lot! :)

johnfn responds:

You're right, I can hear problems with the 1:36 thing now that you point it out. Gotta think more about transitions in the future. I admit I am quite lazy with them! :-)

Thanks for the review!

Yes! :D Just in time for my B-day! Personally I love the original, but you really made this your own, Matt! It's very catchy and melodic. Smooth-flowing, awesome instruments and harmonies, and the frantic synths and little melodies really added a lot to the piece. I have to say, however, I don't necessarily like the distorted-ness around 3:30. However, it had a strong finish, and I love how you managed to maintain the mood and melody of the original while also putting your own twist on it! Excellent work as always, Matt! :D

Dylnmatrix responds:

Thanks man, and happy birthday! I also really love the original, and I think this still pales in comparison to that, but I wanted to add my own flair to it and actually try to figure out some of Envy's melodies by ear.

I had a lot of fun making this, and I'm glad you liked this! Yeah, the distortion at 3:30 could have been done better, but it was added around the time my laptop started freaking out, and it was getting harder and harder to update little things in the track, as I'd have to render a new wave file each time I updated something. But I do still believe it sounds cool enough to stay in the track, even if it's a little out of place.

Thanks for the review, man! Always means a lot to me.

I like the instruments and climactic nature of this piece. The melody was good, and you did a nice job of varying it. Good structure, nice ending, really solid piece! :)

Smitsy responds:

Thanks for the review! It means a lot :)

I like the instruments and structure, as well as the mood, but I think that at times the beat was a little distracting from the chill vibes of the other instruments. A couple of those transitions, like at :9 and :41, need to be a bit smoother. I like the variety of instruments, though, and I like the ending a lot too, but I think it needs to flow better. Other than that, good start. It has potential. ;)

Possibly responds:

Cool, thanks for taking the time to comment, I take your comments on board :)
