I like the instruments, mood, and how it progresses, but it lacks substance and complete structure. If you're planning on doing more with this, I would recommend adding some more layers of sound and coming up with a more creative ending than a fade-out. Pretty good start, though. ;)

I like the frantic melody and cool instruments. It's very energetic and fun! :D I like the transitions at :13 and 1:01, and it's well-structured and engaging and unique. It ends a little suddenly, though. I'd love to see this made into a full-length track, maybe with some more variation on the melody. Still, it's an awesome piece, and a great creative way of channeling your anger! ;)

Thank you!

What an honest and helpful review :) you rock

I like the instruments and mood at the beginning, and how it's climactic and ominous. It's well-structured, and those vocals at 1:12 really added a lot to the piece. Excellent work with the transitions and drums. It's very unique and moody. Keep up the great work, man. ;)

I like the mood and instruments. It's climactic and pretty well-flowing, except :50 was a little too sudden of a change of pace for me. Maybe it got a little repetitive around 2:30, but I like the transition at 3:13. However, fade-out endings usually aren't that entertaining for me. I like how it was pretty, yet energetic, though. Overall, it's a nice, melodic, well-structured, feel-good kind of piece. I like it a lot! :)

A perfect example of why I love your music, Envy! :D Wonderful melody and instruments, very smooth-flowing and climactic. I love the transition at :45. Please finish this as soon as possible! I'll be waiting! :D

I like the instruments and mood, but it didn't progress very fast. That guitar caught me off guard- I thought it was turning into a more energetic song, and then it got all dreamy again...you have a lot of different instruments and melodies in there. I feel like they could mesh together better, and the structure is a little fractured. What I mean by that is that it seems like a lot of isolated melodies right now. It needs more flow, just like most of your pieces, I'm afraid. Another thing you could do to make transitions smoother is play around with the drums. When the piece is getting more energetic, emphasize them more, and when it becomes more dreamy and atmospheric, slowly strip them away. I think part of it is that you're trying to do too much in one song, JQiscool. Maybe you could start a couple of projects in which you keep the notes and chords simple, and that way a lot of different instruments and melodies can mesh well together. The isolated parts in this piece are good, but how you fit them together needs to be more meaningful. I'm glad you've been posting so much recently, JQiscool. Another great way to improve is to just get your stuff out there! ;)

Wow really long!
Thanks for the suggestions and constructive criticism!

I like the melody at the beginning and the phrasing as well, but it could've progressed a little faster. The transitions at 1:24, 4:11 and 2:20 were a bit sudden, and I think there could've been more variation, but I acknowledge your hard work. At 2:48, the melody is suddenly much louder than it was before. I think you could make that transition more gradual as well. However, I like the breakdown at 3:45, and the instruments and mood as well. I didn't think it needed to be so long, though, and it ends a little suddenly. I know you've struggled with transitions before, so at least you're aware of what you need to work on. :) One way I usually handle transitions is by gradually changing the dynamics or whatever to try to convey the new mood I'm trying to establish. You seem to be going for a more rapid transition, which makes the music a little choppy. I also find it helpful to use the slide tool! ;) Hope you found this review helpful! ^^

This is one of the most helpful reviews ever!
The reason it doesn't progress as fast is this was going to be a rap song, actually, but the guy that was going to do the lyrics never finished, so i just posted the instrumental.
Thanks so much :)

You made this in Garageband? o_0 I'm impressed! :D The instruments and melody are really cool, and it flows really well. The drums were interesting, and I appreciate the variation on the second refrain. The ending was good, too. I'm afraid I can't exactly give you many points for originality, but I hope you'll post some more original tracks soon. ;) Overall, good job! Keep at it, man. :)

glubglubz responds:

Thanks! I do write some of my own original music, but I never get them to a point where I can call them complete?!

Cool instruments at the beginning, but at :19 they got a little too penetrating to go with the more calming mood you established earlier. I do like the drums and the melody at :56, and the parts harmonize really well together. I just think you need to find a smoother transition into the bit at :19. Other than that, it's really good, although I'm afraid to say fade-out endings are rarely interesting for me. Good start, though: it just needs a little cleaning up around the edges. ;)

Aye, no problem. Thanks for the feedback.
