I like the dreamy atmosphere at the beginning and the soothing chord progression. Sounds somewhat wistful, yet also cinematic and later energetic. The build-up throughout the first minute or so does a great job of channeling the emotion. The production is really tight yet again; I almost wanted more drums at times, but those rich pads are so scrumptious that I'm glad they're so prominent in the mix. I think the ending came on a little suddenly, and I also think you could've done more with the composition of the piece. Overall, though, the atmosphere and mood of the piece are just mesmerizing, and you've really outdone yourself with the sound design. Keep up the good work, FarOut!

Cute piece! Sounds like a lullaby. I think you may have overused the grace notes/rolled chords a tad for my tastes close to the beginning, but the progression of the piece is really soothing thereafter. I also like the way the piece is structured. The transition at 1:14 was enjoyable, and there's a nice ebb and flow of energy throughout. The piece has a sufficient amount of variety without being too loose in its arrangement. Overall really strong work, Ale! May I ask what the title means? ^^

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

The title means "From a Seed", and it's about having achieved much since one was born, but still having so much more ahead, in life. The title could have alternate connotations in English though, and it's was made for an event at a Swedish university, so it's only apt that the title is in Swedish too :)

Thank you for the review!
I'm glad you liked the listen :3

I like the warm pads at the beginning and the atmosphere. The vocals are great, and I'm really enjoying the sense of climax into 1:06. The post-chorus had a really victorious vibe about it, which I appreciated. The production quality is really strong as always. My favorite thing about the piece is probably how uplifting and empowering it sounds. The emotional appeal of the piano at the end was really nice too. If I had to complain about one thing, it'd probably be the rather traditional arrangement of the piece. That said, it wasn't overly repetitive either. Just very much feels like a pop song with the way it's structured. Otherwise, really strong work again. There aren't too many artists on NG that use original vocals, so you've certainly found a solid niche to explore. Keep up the good work, FarOut!

I like the ominous mood at the beginning and the somber piano progression. The vocal samples add an additional eerie element that coalesces will around the build into :44. I also really like the full texture at around 1:45. This is another piece in which I thought there could've been some stronger melodic content (the fore-grounded chopped vocals at the drop seem very chordal and repetitive), but otherwise I really enjoyed this one again. Looks like NG just got an injection of new talent. Looking forward to hearing more from you soon! ^_^

Nice! I like the cinematic vibe at the beginning. I'm not super familiar with the original, but the piece really has a great element of storytelling. The quirky synth at :34 blends in really well with the rest of the texture, and the drop is super catchy and fun. Really nice job with the structural contrast in the middle section and the flow. I really like how the emotional appeal of the strings contrasts with the punchy, energetic refrain. The piano was a really nice touch at the end too. Great work!

I like the synths at the beginning and the punchy drums. I like the climax into :45, too, and also how it resets itself before the vocals come in. Vocals sound hella clean - where did you get them from? The production sounds especially clear with this one - what DAW do you use? I would've liked to hear the drop at 3:30 varied a bit vis-a-vis the first one, and the arrangement of the piece is a tad cliche. Otherwise, really strong work yet again. Keep it up!

FarOutOfficial responds:

Original vocals from Karra for our song. We use FL studio for everything, all sounds are original as well.

I like the quirky pads and progression at the beginning. The vocal samples at :33 are nice, and the blissful refrain ties the piece together well. I think the drums could've been a bit more creative, but overall the sound design is really pleasant. The piece gets a little repetitive towards the end, and the melodic content could've been a bit more dynamic, but overall the composition is good too.

Tbh, I'm usually pretty skeptical when users straight-up ask me to scout them, but I'm impressed with your work. Welcome to the Grounds, FarOutOfficial!

Excellent! I missed your energetic, haunting, and heavy tracks. The sound design here is amazing, and the heavy bass complements the choir and lighter synths really well. My only issue with the choir's riff is that, up until 1:15, the rhythm felt a little square. The vocal samples are also great additions to the texture; "where'd they go?" at around 2:00 really adds a lot of flavor to the piece. The production quality is pretty strong. The texture is really busy here, yet the piece is still quite well-balanced frequency-wise. I also think this piece has a lot more shape and contrast in energy levels compared to some of your other recent tracks, which is good to hear. Really strong work overall. Insta-fave and DL. Keep up the great work, Waterflame! A happy October to you too.

I like the synth arpeggios at the beginning and the crackly ambient noises. I like the vocal samples (props to Ian and Helena) and the pulsing pads at around :30 on. The bass sounds really groovy and smooth, but I think the drums were a bit too soft for my tastes for much of the piece. Nice job with the melodic content at 1:45, but I think they were a bit too up-front in the mix. I wanted to hear more of the atmosphere to complement the melodies. The breakdown at 2:52 was really relaxing - nice job there. The percussion at 3:55 or so was a good touch, and overall the dreamy atmosphere of the piece is great. I've been enjoying your forays into synthwave. Keep up the good work, Colin!

ColinMuir responds:

Heck yeah, i'm really enjoying the genre.

I like the ominous mood at the beginning and the spacious atmosphere of the piece. Might even need a bit more reverb or something to fill out the texture. There's a great sense of suspense, but overall the pacing was a tad slow for my tastes. Given the thin texture, it's the details that really make this piece what it is. I really like the subtle delay effect at 1:35. It just sounded really haunting. While clearly not a stand-alone piece, you set the mood really well here. The sound design is great, too. Keep up the good work, Possibly!

Possibly responds:

Thanks very much for the review. Yeah, you might be right about the reverb, I'll take another look at it when I get a chance. Thanks again :D
