It's the perfect combo of pretty and spooky! :D I can feel the apprehension in this piece! I like the instruments and the simplicity to it. I must say, however- fade-out endings aren't really the most creative ways of ending pieces. Maybe you could loop it. I would also suggest adding a little more dynamic/emotional contrast, but if it's for a game, I can understand your reasoning behind keeping it mellow throughout. I love the mood and the instruments, though. Great job! :D

Neon-Bard responds:

Hey man, thanks for listening and leaving a review! I'm glad you enjoyed the instruments and the simplicity of the song, and I agree with you about the ending. Not to make excuses or anything, but I simply ran out of ideas and wanted to finish up the song quickly (I must have listened through the entire song over 100 times or more). However, on that note, I really like this piece and in all likelihood I will be working on it in the future. I'll be sure to come up with a better, more creative ending next time 'round! ;)

Thanks again for listening! :)

I like the ominous, simple, and climactic beginning. The lyrics proved a good transition. This is catchy and funky. I love the instruments and transitions. I like the breakdown at 1:18, too. The ending is a little sudden, but it could possibly make a good loop. At some points in the song, it lacked substance, and the vocals as they are now didn't really seem to lead anywhere, but I understand that you're working on that. ;) Overall, good job. I like your style, Dracnum. :D

Dracnum responds:

Hey thanks, Bro! its not often that i get good constructive feedback. I'm actually regretting making the beginning they way i did. usually if a song doesn't pick up within the first five seconds people just move on, but i'm glad you liked it. Finding someone who can decently sing/rap and has recording equipment is also a pain, but hopefully someone on NG will get bored and give it a shot haha.
Thanks again, dude. you really seem to know your music ;)

Uplifting, beautiful, inspiring, emotional- I love it! :D I love the instruments, too, even though I didn't think you needed the drums. It's very well-structured and smooth-flowing, although it ends a little suddenly. Still, Newgrounds needs more tracks like this! Great job, man! ;D

It's pretty and smooth and flowing, and, while I like the instruments, a lot of them are the same as your other tracks on the "Cuintha" album. I like the structure and the way you ended it, but I would suggest experimenting with some other instruments/genres...not that I don't like this. There's definitely potential here, Mr. Johansen. ;)

DanJohansen responds:

Hi, thanks for listening and glad you like it. As in many soundtrack type of albums, the instrumentation staying the same when creating pieces for a world is intended to get a unified feeling and a recognizable atmosphere that is coherent within a world. All my Cuintha tracks share the same sound, although not Always the same instrumentation. In this tune the Asian string instrument heard throughout the piece has never been used in other tracks.

But I encourage you to listen to soundtracks from movies/films, anime and games. Often times when going the classical route the sound and instrumentation will be the same throughout the entire soundtrack.

I like the ominous mood and instruments at the beginning. The intro didn't need to be so long in my opinion, though. It certainly is dark and engaging, although dubstep isn't my favorite genre. I like the variations on the bass. That muddy, distorted bass and the effects around 1:53 are interesting. It's well-structured and the transitions were good. I like how you end it similarly to how it begins. It's engaging and creepy. I like it! :)

It's pretty catchy, but a little repetitive. Progressive house isn't my favorite genre, but I like the beat and instruments. The bassline was a little cliche, and it definitely needs more variation for my tastes, but it's well-structured and smooth-flowing. I liked the ending, though. Overall, it's pretty good. It just needs more variety/originality. ;)

I like the dreamy mood, although it progresses really slowly compared to your other tracks. I like the instruments, but I think it needs a little more variety. At some points, like at :48 and 2:04, it really didn't seem to have that much substance. I like the harmonies and bass, and it's a nice little ambient groove, but it could be more engaging in my opinion. I didn't think it needed to be 6 minutes long. Still, it's a smooth background sort of piece. I like it. :)

TastyTeo responds:

i wanted to make it as long as i could because the school project is kind of big

I liked the piano at the beginning, but I think you need a smoother transition at :15. The beat was good. It's nice and climactic, although that synth at :46 was a little too penetrating for me. I like the variations you have starting around 1:23. I must say, however, I feel like I've heard the same bassline a thousand times. Sorry. It ends a little suddenly, too. Maybe you could create a transition at 1:59 so that it can loop smoothly (?). I think you should keep working on it- try to make it more unique and smooth. It has potential. ;)

I like the percussion and mood. It's catchy and the melody is nice and cute! :3 It loops really well, and I like the structure you have going on here. Keep it up, man! ;)

ScrabbitTheRabbit responds:

Thanks for the kind words :]

I like the emotion and simplicity. The instruments were beautiful! I think it should have a little more structure to it, though, and I didn't the pauses really added much to the piece, especially towards the end. It's a little too slow in that regard. I love the mood and instruments, but I think you should give it a little more form. You should keep working on it. :)

Mattashi responds:

Thanks for your review :) , I'll see and try if I can make it better.
