[Sky on Fire-QUADX]

Liked the instrument you used for the chords in the beginning, but I think they would've sounded better if you connected them more. The distorted vocals were really interesting and futuristic. It even feels dreamy at times, whereas it's also pretty energetic at others- I like the emotional contrast there. I don't really understand the ending- it seemed to me like it started to fade out, then you came in with the vocals again. Still, love your style and the originality I see here. Have a nice holiday, and keep up the good work.

I like the ominous intro, and your transitions in the beginning were smooth. Like the instrument you used for the melody that comes in at :56 and I liked the bass and beat, too. However, some of your later transitions were a little rough and/or unoriginal, like :54 and 2:23. This piece has a smooth-sounding melody, so I think it deserves some smooth transitions. Also, I think you could've come up with a much better ending than a fade-out one. Other than that, great job. It's upbeat and fun and creative. Have a nice holiday, and keep up the good work.

[Industrial Toy Box]

It starts off a little slow...but it's also pretty climactic so I'll let it slide. ;) It's very distorted and creepy, which is a good thing! When that riff came in at :33 I thought it was just kind of wierd, but the "melody" at 1:36 really added a lot to the piece. It got a little repetitive, though. I think you should bring out that back-up melody that starts at about 2:25 more. Sorry to say this, but the ending is weak. It's like the beginning- slow and quite a bit boring, to be honest. Sorry. That bass at 3:53 threw me off a bit- I thought you were going to do something more with the piece, but you didn't. It's still a good quality piece with a lot of potential, but it needs to be more engaging and less repetitive. Hope this helped and keep up the good work! :)

I love your style, Synthapse. The catchy and energetic bass strangely compliments the slow, mellow melody very well! It's dreamy and thought-provoking. However, I don't think the melody quite worked with the "back-up melody" at around 1:42-2:15. I also have to say: I'm not a fan of the fade-out endings. They just seem lazy and anticlimactic to me. Still, like I said, love your style and hope this review helped you! Keep up the good work! :)

Engaging and bouncy. I like it. The instruments are interesting, and the form is well done. There are so many remixes on Newgrounds, though. I'd love to hear an original from you. Btw, the drums could've been stronger/ more engaging, even if the focus is on the melody. Loops well, but at the same time a little repetitive. Despite my criticism, nice job overall, and hope I'll hear from you soon. :)

I'm sorry dear. My passion has never been composition. Ever since I started making music it was out of a love of classic video game tunes and a desire to create my own twists to them. That being said, you probably won't see anything truly original from me unless it's a collaboration. It just wouldn't be as fun or interesting for me--I need to be able to feel passionate about what I do, or I won't be able to keep doing it.

The drums tend to be a little lackluster, so I struggle with finding a balance between making sure they don't ever draw the focus and making sure you can still tell they're there.

[8Bit Sky Chase Remix]

You chose the perfect instruments for this song! They work so well together too! They make the song really engaging and special. The melody is so relaxing and upbeat- I love it! However, I did hear what I thought was a misplaced note at 1:20, but that's not that big a deal. I was disappointed when I saw that this is a remix, and I'm not a huge fan of the fade-out ending, but that's just me. I'd love to hear an original work of yours, because this piece really has the whole package (perhaps with the exception of originality). Overall, excellent job. Uplifting, fun, cute, yay! :)

Thanks! I'm not so sure about that misplaced note. If it is misplaced there, it's also misplaced in the first half too...
Yeah, I'm not too fond of fade-out endings but I personally suck at ending a song, so I tend to loop and fade, lol. I do however have 2 Original works, with another one in progress. I don't think they're *that* good but it's still something if you wanted to check them out. Just look for 'Blemished Bluff' and 'Scorching Summit' in my uploads if you're interested.

[Restriction]

Pretty catchy, but maybe a little repetitive. Beginning was a little slow, and the transition at :26 was a little rough. Liked the bass instrument, and 2:15 was the highlight of the song for me, which really showed it off. Ending was a little wierd, unless you wanted to loop it, which I didn't think it did very well. I feel like this is just the basic structure for a song, and you should expand on it. Still, pretty good for some "random dnb/dubstep/dance song thing." Keep working on it. :)

[Fando Quest Stage Boss]

Nice job! The melody is really memorable, and I like the transitions with the open hat. You stuck to your theme of old videogame boss perfectly! The instruments and style of the piece really were loyal to it. Also like the form of the piece. I wish you had some drums in there, though- something cute and simple, at least. Also, not a big fan of the fade-out ending. It always seems a bit lazy to me. Maybe a little repetitive, too, but that's okay. Like I said, memorable melody and good job establishing the theme of the song. Keep it up!

Thanks. The song was originally 1:31 seconds long so its repetitive because it repeats. Most boss themes do not exceed 1 minute and though I have made long boss themes that vary more melodies this theme is for an action platforming style game so a long elaborate theme would not be good since the person playing would probably beat the boss in about 2 minutes. However I see where you are coming from.

Yeah! Easy to get attached to: groovy and relatable. Excellent choice of instruments. Liked the ending, too, and it's hard to find relaxed, throw-back kind of music on NG. Nice work! I feel like I've heard a lot of songs like this before, though- represents most old-fashioned country songs perfectly as far as I'm concerned. You might want to work on the vocals a bit, too- they sounded almost whiney sometimes. Sorry. Still, you got your point across, and I like the style of this piece. It's really something different, and that's a good thing. ;)
