I like the instruments and progression. It's catchy and climactic. Dubstep isn't really my favorite genre, but I love how that piano has a sort of ballroom-like quality. The structure and transitions were good. I like the way you ended the piece. I admire your work, NIGHTkilla, especially "Amity." Keep at it, man! ;D

I like the instruments and mood and beat. It's catchy and cool and climactic. It's well-structured and smooth-flowing, but maybe a little repetitive. I like the melodies a lot, though. The ending was cool, too. Like I said, it's a little repetitive, and you should probably move away from using all those default drum instruments. ;) Other than that, I like it a lot. Good job! ^^

Thanks for the review! Im saving up for Toontrack EZ Drummer so hopefully Ill get the drum issues fixed soon :D

I love the dreamy, atmospheric effects and synths and piano. The melodies are beautiful, and it felt really climactic into 1:06. I love the mood and I appreciate the attention to detail. The song matches perfectly with the theme of "flight." An excellent composition! :D My one complaint is that it doesn't loop very well, but that's not really a huge issue. Btw, thank you for doing NGADM again this year! It's always produced such great content over the years, and continues to do so this year! <3 ...and I love your music, Step! ;D

Step responds:

Thanks a lot for reviewing! What I'm most relieved to hear is that the melodies are good! I found it difficult to compose something good for this! Yeah the loop is terrible haha, I didn't really intend to make it loop properly but I set it as a loop since in-game technically it'll be looping.

You're very much welcome for the NGADM! And I'm glad you like my music. Thanks again!

I like the mood and instruments a lot. It loops pretty well, too. The melodies are well-written, and I like the structure and transitions as well. It somehow reminds me of the passage of time, and I also picture a small, busy town in winter. Maybe you could've done a little more with it, though - something to make it a bit more memorable. Still, I admire the high quality of your instruments and the relaxing mood. Nice work! ;)

Calamaistr responds:

Funny how people can hear winter in a track inspired by summer heat, but i understand why. ;)
As for the doing more / memorable suggestions, im not competitive minded tbh so i didnt go all out, wanted to build up the quality of my submits after each round. But ohwell, if im still alive next year i might create something that blows everything out of the water. :)

I like that pulsing synth at the beginning. It's catchy and climactic and smooth-flowing and well-structured. Perhaps that crash is a bit overused at the beginning, but I like the instruments and mood a lot. The beat was hiding under the rest of the instruments a lot, though, which might be a limiter-related problem (?). It got really repetitive by the end, too, but I like what you did with the vocals. They were pretty inspiring, too, and I like the spoken voice at 1:53. It felt like the ending to a Disney movie (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, you know). ;) I like how you brought the vocals back toward the end, but the actual ending was quite a bit sudden. Overall, it's an interesting track with some cool instruments and harmonies, and well-incorporated vocals. WAY too repetitive, but nevertheless, nice job! ;)

I like the climactic nature of it as well as the structure. The effect at :08 seemed a little random and unnecessary, though, and the instrument at :17 was a little too penetrating and harsh-sounding for my tastes. It's not bad, though, considering it's a work in progress. This could make a pretty cool full-length track. You should keep working on it! ;)

thx yea definitely still in the works. The intro is a lil harsh i know. I hand made the rythm synth which im finding to be quite fun now these days. thx for the encouraging review. means a lot! : )

I love the mood and instruments, especially the one at :53. It got a little repetitive at times, but I still love the harmonies and suspenseful atmosphere to it. The ending was pretty cool, too. Nice work! ;)

Thanks for taking the time to review!

I like the melodies a lot, as well as the instruments (especially the distorted mid-range bass at :06). The intro seemed a little more rushed than in your other tracks, but I still liked it, and it was definitely very climactic and catchy. The instrument at 1:23 was a little too harsh and loud, but I liked how you led into the melody at 1:59, which was probably a favorite point of the song for me. I also like what you did at 2:37 - giving the melody a new instrument made it seem...more varied than it actually was. XD I agree that it is quite a bit repetitive. I like the bassiness around 4:15, and how that leads into a very conclusive ending. It even loops pretty well! :D Awesome structure and transitions as always. Keep at it, Matt! ;D
