Hell yes! >:D The build-up was great, as it always was, and I love the changes you made at 1:01. I love the instruments and structure and transitions and mood. The piano was a nice touch at around 1:30. It added a lot of chill relief to the energetic nature of the rest of the track. I love the melody at 2:14. I also appreciate how you varied it again at 2:44. The outro was pretty cool, too. Overall, just fantastic work! :D Keep it up, Khrossfire! ^^

Lockyn responds:

YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! Hello TheDoor, I still gotta review your newish stuffs... damn I am lazy xD I will get to it, I promise! Thanks so much for the reviews, and I'm glad you enjoyed the changes I made ;3 hopefully I did the WIP justice! THANKS THANKS THANKS!

Very catchy and cool. :D I love the instruments and melodies! I thought the transition into 1:15 could've been a little smoother, though. It certainly is very blissful and upbeat, however. Perfect for a videogame! ^^ Perhaps the melody could've used a bit more variation, but at the same time I like the structure as it is, and the outro felt very conclusive, which I liked. You should make trance more often, Waterflame! :D Btw, may I ask why you didn't enter NGADM this year? I was looking forward to seeing what you would make for it. Anyway, awesome track! Looking forward to your next album! :)

Waterflame responds:

Thank you! and thank you for the constructive criticism :) I decided not to enter cause i have so many projects going on this year, both for companies and for my own sake. So i figured it would just stress me out on top of it all to join this year. Ill apply for sure next year tho, if there is a next year! :)

I liked the ominous mood at the beginning, as well as the instruments throughout. The intro is a little long, but I like that distorted bass at 1:10. You really play a lot with the mood of the piece. It goes from ominous to angry to blissful to ominous again! I love pieces that do that. I also like the transition at 3:09 a lot. Overall, the structure and transitions were good, cool instruments, not too repetitive, and nice work with the mood! I thought the ending was cool too, but it cut off a little suddenly (did you intend to loop this?). Great job, though! Best of luck at NGADM! ;D

InvisibleObserver responds:

I love to play with elements of different genres, instrument styles, sonic values, aswell as altering moods within peices - awesome that its super clear without having anyone feel disrupted by it.

The cutting at the end was more a result of me having finished the song half an hour before I went to work, and my work shift going over the final submission time... so I was balls to the wall rushed to just get it pumped out and uploaded.

Very dreamy and chill! ;) The melody and instruments were excellent, and the percussion (clicking noise?) was really cool, too. I must say that your attention to detail is superb. I thought it ended a little suddenly, though, and perhaps you could've done a little more with it, or at least looped it. The structure could've been more meaningful as well. Still, I like the atmospheric vibes! Keep at it, and good luck at NGADM! ;D

TheBenjerman responds:

Thanks! I rather like the little flourish on the end, although I can see where you're coming from about ending suddenly. I wanted to end on that little gratuitously happy note though, and if it takes a little away from the structure of the piece, so be it.

About the structure as a whole, see the response to Esoterik's comment (I may have nailed "simple" a little too well).

I like the frantic synths and melodies a lot, and you definitely succeeded in your goal of making something that's both groovy and atmospheric. The piano and vocals added a lot to the piece as well. I felt like it could've progressed faster, but I thoroughly enjoyed the transition into 1:51. The structure is excellent, and the transitions are good as well. May I ask what the voices are saying? The ending got cut off (I'll assume that's the part that needs fixing you refer to in the description), but I also found that using the crash in that way is a little cliché. However, I'm willing to ignore that because you clearly worked very, very hard on just about every other aspect of the song. Amazing work, Johnfn! :D Good luck making it through Round 1, not that you need it, and (dare I say?) I'm looking forward to seeing what you make for Round 2! ^^

johnfn responds:

Thanks for leaving the review, I'm glad you liked it! It's funny how you say that it should have progressed faster. In my initial revision it took nearly twice as long to get to the climax! Eventually someone pointed out that wasn't the greatest idea, so I cut out a lot of extraneous stuff. But I have to admit, after you rearrange your song a lot, you really stop losing a sense of how the arrangement is working. It's something I definitely need practice with!

Round 2 or not, the music keeps coming :D

Edit: Oh yeah, the vocals. My intent was to keep them mostly unintelligible (sometimes, I reverse them, so that you can't tell what she's saying). My justification is that it's more about the voice as a sound then the words. Also, the words she is saying are kinda dumb. You can look them up in the ccmixter link that I provided in the description if you're REALLY curious xD

I like the mood and instruments. It's climactic and catchy, while also dreamy and atmospheric. The effects at :06 and 4:07 seemed a little random and unnecessary, though. I liked the direction it was taking. There seemed to be some sort of drama and suspense, even apprehension. I liked the energetic elements you incorporated around 1:40. I like the structure and transitions, although I think you overused that sweep a bit. I can picture this perfectly for a space game! :D By the end, you really told a story with this track, and I like how the ending is similar to the beginning. However, I don't think it should fade out like that. It's a bit boring. You should probably just loop it, especially if it's for a video game. Keep up the good work, though! :) Hope I'll hear again from you soon! ;D

bluebooblue responds:

Thank you so much TD6, your reviews are always really helpful! yes, I did realized the effects were off later! but oh well, that's fixable! and I'm really happy you liked the track! and gave such a helpful review, thank you very much!
and about the looping part, well I faded out because when I tried to make it loop in newgrounds without the fade (the first time i uploaded it) it didn't work well, it sounded a little off and I still don't know how to make loops that...loop xD

Thanks again!!
